Vicky Tsirou is an Athens-based independent curator, art writer, and researcher, working at the intersection of contemporary art, spatial practices, and critical theory. She studied Art History and Theory at the Athens School of Fine Arts (BA) and pursued postgraduate studies in the interdisciplinary programme Research in Architecture: Design – Space – Culture (MSc) at the National Technical University of Athens. Her research interests focus on the concepts of the commons and public space, participatory art formats, and environmental issues. She has curated numerous solo and group exhibitions addressing these themes, while her texts and essays have been published in collective volumes, exhibition catalogues, and art magazines. She has worked as Assistant to the Artistic Director and Education Coordinator at the cultural organization PCAI, as well as assistant curator, cultural mediator, and production coordinator in major cultural institutions in Greece and Italy, including the U.S. Pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, documenta 14, the Marina Abramović Institute, UNESCO Athens World Book Capital, the Museum of Cycladic Art, and the Athens Biennale. She is an Onassis AiR fellow and a former fellow of the Whitechapel Gallery–NEON Curator Exchange Programme in London and the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation Care Ecologies residency programme. She has also participated in the cross-disciplinary programmes: Geology and Cultural Heritage, Public Open Spaces & Climate Change Mitigation at the University of Pavia, Italy.
